FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL — Michael Glynn

Michael Glynn, Founder and Principal of Glynn Construction, began his construction career in Ireland, working alongside family. After moving to Boston in 1991, he honed his skills in restoring historic homes. By 1995, he had settled in San Francisco, where he worked on major projects like San Francisco City Hall and the SFO International Terminal.

In 1997, Michael founded Kingdom Pipelines, contributing to key developments such as AT&T Park and the BART extension. He sold the company in 2003 to focus on residential construction, founding Michael Glynn Construction. Since then, he has completed custom homes and major renovations, including seismic upgrades.

Michael’s expertise spans restoration, renovation, and engineering, and he holds both California General Engineering Contractor (“A”) and General Building Contractor (“B”) licenses.

THE GLYNN ADVANTAGE

Traditionally, a General Building Contractor with a “B” license would handle new home construction or major remodels. However, with the growing need for earthquake-resistant structures in the Bay Area, home building has become more complex, requiring expertise beyond a General Building Contractor’s scope. To ensure structural integrity during an earthquake, factors like soil properties and seismic considerations must be included in your plans. This means that in addition to a General Building Contractor, you'll need a General Engineering Contractor with an “A” license for tasks such as foundation work, excavation, grading, drainage, utility connections, and seismic upgrades.

HERE’S WHY WE’RE THE WISE CHOICE:

With GLYNN’s “A” and “B” contractor licenses and over 20 years of experience in building and engineering here is how we can benefit you and your project:

  • Offering a turnkey solution, with one contractor managing every step of your construction or remodel, including any necessary ground or foundation work.

  • Better control over your project’s schedule, avoiding delays in securing machinery and specialized skills.

  • Reduce project risk by securing the proper permits and minimize subcontracting, leading to a more efficiently managed and coordinated project.
